Space Farms Zoo and Museum- sounds nice and fun, doesn't it? Well, after you read about my first trip their you will change your mind!
I went to Space Farms in May 2010 and I couldn't believe my eyes! Their poor, miserable animals! People I know had told me this zoo was fun and animal friendly. Well, they were wrong, really wrong.
Space Farms have a lion cub (my favorite animal- lion) and the cage they put her in was smaller than the goose exhibit and a worker told me and my friends "she's only gonna be in there for three months and then she'll move to the big lion exhibit." Three months for a lion cub to be in a Great Dane (big dog breed) size cage! Some animal cages had no shade (monkeys, lions, etc.). Luckily for the cub she had shade.
One of their ring-tailed lemurs had its tail cut off. Now it has only half a tail and the wound looked fresh!
The Zoo keeper was feeding live turtles to the alligator when the alligator had fish heads already, he said "they are for show." They are snapping turtles they go under water! My friends and I witnessed it! The alligator's cage was not that big either.
WHAT IS GOING ON?
I have sent them messages and I have got no reply!
I don't want to write anymore. I want to forget all about Space Farms Zoo and Museum but I don't think I can. All I see, to this day, is the animal's poor, sad eyes begging me to save them.
All I can do, since they won't respond, is hope they close down and let the animals go somewhere where it's better.
