So, I didn't post day-by-day updates on Snow Leopard rehearsals, but the play debuted on July 13 and 14 when the Snow Leopard exhibit opened at Central Park Zoo. The actors did a nice job and it was really satisfying to watch. For me, as playwright, the best moment was when one of the characters said to the Momma Snow Leopard, "There comes a point in every parent's life when it's not enough to tell your kids- you have to let them figure it out on their own." Every performance, at least one parent reached out and put a hand on their child's head. When you know you've emotionally affected your audience- you can't put a price on how that makes you feel. And I got across lots of good info on how animal family structures are different across the animal kingdom- it's not always mom, dad, and kids.

So for those of you with an arty bent, you can use those talents to help save the planet, too!
