Living Green

I hadn't gotten on Teens for Planet Earth in a while. When I first found this site I thought it was awesome. I adore nature, Earth, and learning. This site was a combination of all of that. But I live in an area where I'm pretty much the only one who thinks like that. All the teenagers I go to school with are more concerned about gossip, dating, and makeup. I'm all for looking pretty, but aren't there more important things to life? After my weekend with my Earth loving friends, I signed onto…See More

Stacy Porter commented on Mariah Vega's blog post What to do when you are outside?
"I don't have much of a yard considering I live in an apartment building and concrete seems to have taken on a life of it's own, but walking and picking up trash are great suggestions! This time of year is great because it's so warm. I…"

Stacy Porter commented on Stacy Porter's blog post Camping
"Personally I think they should have a bike rentals around the park. Then we wouldn't have to drive all around to get places. Not only would it save on gas but you'd be able to spend more time outside. It's a win win!"

Walking VS. Driving

I'm 18 and only now have my driving permit. I could have gotten it two years ago but I didn't have a big need. For one thing, if I ever needed to go to town I'd go with my grandma and we'd do all of our errands together. Then I moved to the smallest town in PA. I'm not sure if that's completely true, but it feels like it. Again, there was no need to drive. I can walk to the grocery store, library, rite-aid, dollar store, and even the school. The school's football field is directly across the… Continue

Camping

I love nature. It's beautiful, green, clean, crisp, and smells wonderful. This whole weekend, from Friday til this morning, I was surrounded by trees, flowers, and waterfalls. My mom and I meet up with friends at Lechworth state park in NY every year. We've been going there for they last six years and every year I see something new. I'm in awe with everything I see.

Now, I don't actually camp with tents. I "camp" at the inn within the park but that's only because it rains every year… Continue

People's Climate March

People's Climate MarchSeptember 21st,I pull on my cap and volunteer shirt, walk to Columbus Circle Subway Station, all while simultaneously yawning. It's 7:30 in the morning. I'm already on duty. As I gaze around, I glimpse passerby in absurd and fascinating costumes. A man or a sun, a man-sun strolls along. Someone with a pointed warlock hat- not really sure what he was supposed to be.People are already here, committed to the act of defying climate change. The day progresses, my arms ache from…See More

CCD of Honey Bees

CCD of Honey BeesColony Collapse Disorder among the Honey Bees is no longer a worry of the past. It is a legitimate concern among environmentalists and researchers. Why are the colonies being lost? This is the ultimate question that must be addressed. If we ignore the increasing death of bees, we may threaten the cultivation of various foods, flowers, jeopardizing the sustenance all creatures depend on. Not only to honey bees make honey, but they pollinate fruits, vegetables, and various…See More
